Our community

ARRC is one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects the City has ever undertaken. That’s why we’re already engaging with people living and working near our precinct, and the broader Gold Coast community, to shape the future of waste management.

A Community Reference Group (CRG) provides ongoing input, representing local residents, businesses and other stakeholders.

More opportunities for community involvement will be available as we progress through our planning and delivery phases.

Preparing the site for construction

Like most major infrastructure projects, we are required to undertake preliminary earthworks to prepare our Stapylton precinct for construction.

Our precinct sits on City of Gold Coast-owned land within the Stapylton–Yatala Enterprise Area.

The site is surrounded by existing industrial uses, including recycling facilities, heavy manufacturing, landfill operations and cleared farmland. This reflects its long-standing designation for industrial development.
